Being a mother you can imagine the excitement when I came across http://text4baby.org/. A free site, where moms and moms to be get FREE messages each week on their cell phone. Registration is easy and can be done online by texting the word BABY (or BEBE for Spanish) to 511411. Enter your baby’s due date or baby’s birthday and your zip code and you will receive free messages with tips for your pregnancy and caring for your baby. The topics covered in the messages are pertaining to different topics critical to maternal and child health like: immunization, seasonal flu, prenatal care, emotional well being, drugs and alcohol, labor and delivery, car seat safety, exercise and fitness, developmental milestones and more.
Besides the support of CTIA-The Wireless Association and participating wireless service providers, a number of government and academic institutions, professional associations and non-profit organizations have partnered together in this endeavor.
So, come on all ye expecting and new moms ( Hey!! even you dads are allowed) lets make the most of this and sign up! And if you dont have anything to do with pregnancy and babies right now….please do pass the word around.
